SIDE MAN is a darkly comic new drama which tells the story of a time before The Beatles
and Elvis, when jazzmen were as heroic as premier league players and there was no shortage
of Saturday night gigs. SIDE MAN is a tribute to the men whose lives were dedicated to
their music and to the families that suffered in the wake of that passion.
This
autobiographical play by WARREN LEIGHT is directed by MICHAEL MAYER and features EDIE FALCO,
Emmy Award Winning star of The Sopranos, JASON PRIESTLEY,
star of Beverly Hills 90210, and FRANK WOOD who won a Tony
Award for his performance in New York.
SIDE MAN includes jazz
classics by Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, Clifford Brown, Donald Byrd, Roy Eldridge, Ella
Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington.
