BIOGRAPHY FRANK WOOD (Gene) 1999 TONY Award and Drama League Award, Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for the Broadway production of Side Man. Frank originated this role in Side Man, from the workshop at West Bank Café, through NY Stage and Film at Vassar Powerhouse Theater, Weissberger/CSC and Roundabout productions. Off-Broadway/Regional credits: "Virshinin" in Three Sisters (member, East Coast Artists; Artistic director Richard Schechner); for New Georges: Neena Beeber's Tomorrowland, Marina Shron's King of Rats; "the Jeweller" in Len Jenkin's Dark Ride at Soho Rep; many Gil Kofman plays at Soho Rep, Adobe Theater, Dallas Theater Center; Medevenko in Carol Rocomora's The Seagull (Philadelphia Festival Theatre for New Plays); 1996 Drama-Logue winner, Best Ensemble in Kofman's Entrevista '87 (Padua Hills Playwrights Festival); Quick Takes (New Hope PA Festival for the Arts). Former member, People's Light and Theatre Company, 1989-91; works extensively with NYC's Fifty Second Street Project. Graduate NYU graduate acting program, Wesleyan University theatre program. Television: "Law & Order" (Dr. Rutland). Film: Thirteen Days starring Kevin Costner, and Pollock with Ed Harris. |
